The celebration kicks off with Hot Summer Nights on Friday, with the theme “Since ’66 – 50 years of Cruising the Strip.” The 60s will come alive as vintage cars line up along the Strip. This family-friendly event will also have special performers like Capt. Scalawag, who will be cruising the strip on his pirate mobile. There will also be Clowns, Merry Mary, Sparkie and Sprinkles, who will be entertaining the kids with face painting, balloon animals and much more! Get a free portrait drawn by Charcoal Chuck or have your kids show off their artistic abilities with Mz Loretta. Be mesmerized and create magical memories with magician Marshall Jay. Enjoy the fun, rain or shine, from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m. Attendees will experience the 60s not just with the classic cars, but also with special “groovy” prices at Strip businesses throughout the weekend.

The fun doesn’t end there! The celebration continues on Saturday, August 13 with many other activities planned by the city.
