Watch Fireworks From Your Boat!

There is no better place to visit for the Fourth of July than the Lake of the Ozark. There are fun activities all weekend long leading up the the 4th. Enjoy live music, fun community events and, of course, fireworks! There will be fireworks happening all over the area, so no matter where you're at around the area, there is sure to be a beautiful display nearby. While we may be a little bias, there is no better place to watch fireworks than on the lake. If you don't own a boat, don't worry! Iguana Watersports still has rentals available this weekend, as well as on the Fourth of July.

Tips For Watching Fireworks From Your Boat

There is no better place to enjoy fireworks than on your boat. However, we want to make sure you have the best experience possible. Here are a few things to consider to make your experience more enjoyable.

- Bring blankets & Jackets. While you're boating during the day, bringing a jacket or a blanket is probably the last thing on your mind. It's hot and humid and you just want to cool off by speeding down the Lake. However, at night, it can get a bit chilly. We don't want you shivering while trying to enjoy the show, so make sure you pack a few things to keep you warm.

- Don't forget snacks. If you're going to be out and about through the night to enjoy these fireworks displays, you'll probably get hungry. Bring some snacks to satisfy your craving so you can enjoy the fireworks.

- Leave the pets at home. While dogs can make great boating companions, it's best to leave them at home when going out to see fireworks on your watercraft. Fireworks can scare our furry friends, and we don't want any accidents of any kind while you're out on the Lake. Make sure they're nice and cozy at home while you have fun on the boat (this time around).

- Designated a sober captain. We want you to have fun this Fourth of July, but make sure you're being safe. Just like with driving a car, you never want to operate a boat while under the influence. If you will be having a few drinks while watching the fireworks, make sure you designate a sober captain to make sure you arrive home safely.

Rinker Boats New For 2017!

For 2017, Rinker has redesigned their entire lineup of boats. From their cruisers to their sportboats, you can enjoy a whole new experience with Rinker. Check out what's new with Rinker and a few Rinker boats that you can see at our Lake of the Ozarks watercraft dealership.

History Of Rinker Boats

In the 1930s, a dairy farmer named Lossie "L.E." Rinker started building fishing and racing boats out of his workshop on the White River in Indiana. After the Koren War, L.E.'s sons, John and Jann, joined him in establishing Rinkerbuilt in Syracuse, Indiana. From that moment, Rinker has stood at the forefront of American boating. Rinker was always ahead of the competition, bringing innovative designs, such as fiberglass construction and tri-hulls, long before most of their competition. Today, the Rinker heritage is one that brings pride to both boat owners and the company's employees.

Performance You Can Feel

The Rinker name has stood for dedication to giving more than expected since the beginning. To continue that legacy, Rinker has paired with two of the world's best marine engine and powertrain manufacturers, VOLVO PENTA and Mercury Marine, to bring world-class powertrains to all Rinker boats. You can truly feel the difference in every Rinker, both in power and fuel efficiency. The Rinker boats feature new marine innovations, such as variable valve timing, rear-facing throttle bodies, direct injection, electronic throttle control, aluminum engine blocks and freshwater cooling. They're also bringing forward drive to select models, which brings forth a new level of handling and driver-oriented experience. Experience the exhalation of the Rinker power and enjoy it longer through more efficient platforms. It's the best of both worlds with Rinker boats!

Workmanship You Can Count On

The Rinker EX Series express cruisers, QX Series and MTX Sportsboats give you the cutting-edge designs, incredible standard features and superior handling that you want. Rinkers are proudly made in the USA by skilled craftsmen using the same high-quality materials you find in other top brands. Rinker boats are committed to delivering the best watercraft from the original concept through engineering and testing and through to the final product. When you climb aboard a Rinker boat you can see the attention to detail put into these watercraft from the gleaming stainless steel hardware to the handcrafted cabinetry to the best you can buy upholstery.

4 Boat Maintenance Tips To Keep You On The Water

No matter what type of watercraft you own, there is one thing every boat needs - maintenance. Luckily, it's not difficult to keep your boat running properly, especially when you have the best boat service company at the Lake of the Ozarks helping you out. Ensuring your boat is properly cared for can definitely help avoid costly repairs later on down the road. Here are four maintenance tips to keep your boat on the water this summer.

1. Wash Your Boat Regularly

The best thing you can do for your watercraft is to wash it regularly, especially if you ever use it in saltwater, as salt can corrode metal, fasteners and other hardware. However, even if you're just boating in freshwater, it's important to wash your boat to preserve the paint. When cleaning your boat, ensure you use soaps and cleaners made just for boats to protect the finish. Don't forget to also clean the interior of the boat as well, especially if you're not using a cover.

2. Remember To Change The Oil

Just like cars, boats need to have their oil changed. Four-stroke outboards, inboards and stern drive boats require regular oil changes. The frequency will vary by model, but a good rule of thumb is to change the oil every 100 hours of operation or once a year. If you don't want to do it yourself, or you don't know how Iguana Boat Sales can help! Our Lake of the Ozarks boat service can help you with everything from fiberglass repair to boat detailing, and of course oil changes.

3. Check The Propeller

If you have an outboard or stern drive boat, it's important to regularly check the propeller as par of your pre-launch routine. Use a deep socket to make sure the propeller is nice and secure. It's also important to remove the propeller several times throughout the season to make sure discarded fishing line hasn't become wrapped around the propeller shaft. If it has, have a Lake of the Ozarks boat maintenance company take a look at the gear case for leaks. While the propeller is off, inspect it for nicks, dents and other signs of damage. If you find any damage, send it out for repairs, as even the smallest of dents can cause your boat to lose performance and burn excessive fuel.

4. Bring It To Iguana

At Iguana Boat Sales, our technicians are factory trained and certified to ensure great customers service. Whether you need routine maintenance or an engine rebuild, our staff will have you back on the water enjoying the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks in no time.
