Wonderland Camp
“The mission of Wonderland Camp is to provide a fun, educational camp experience for children, teenagers, and adults who have disabilities, to offer a respite from daily caregiving for family members and healthcare workers, and to provide and nurture a personal development experience for volunteers and staff.”Wonderland Camp provides a memorable and enjoyable camp experience for many individuals who have disabilities each year. This year, Wonderland Camp is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Wonderland Camp is open for the 11 weeks during the summer, during which campers participate in various activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, arts & crafts, nature, music, games, and much more. Children's Burn Camp
Founded in 1997, the Midwest Children's Burn Camp is a camp for burn-injured children ages 6-19 where they can forget about their scars for a week. The camp offers a safe and supportive environment where young burn survivors can have fun and form new friendships. Activities enjoyed at the camp include zip-lining, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, archery, crafts, and even a 110-foot waterslide into the lake. Campers learn a "can do" attitude and focus on the beautiful person they are on the inside to foster a positive self-image.photo credit: facebook.com |
