All About the Malibu WWA Rider Experience:

The World Wake Association (WWA) and Malibu Boats are excited to announce the return of the world’s premier amateur development event series with five stops of action for the 2018 Malibu WWA Rider Experience. Each season, amateur riders across the U.S. come together along with top Malibu Pro athletes for a weekend focused on the next generation in wake through family-friendly instruction and competition. From first-time riders to those making the transition to pro, since 2013 the Malibu Rider Experience has hosted thousands of riders, building local and national wake communities while encompassing the full spectrum of the sport and lifestyle like nothing else in the wake today.

Kicking off with Freeride Friday, riders of all skill levels get an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the course and receive tips from Malibu’s Pro athletes. WWA staff also conducts a Judges Experience clinic available to all parents and riders providing insight on what WWA officials look for on the water during the upcoming competitions. The WWA Regional Championships and Pro Card Qualifiers are held on Saturday giving amateur riders the chance to compete with riders in their region and aspiring the pro’s the opportunity to earn professional status. Surf Gate Sunday gets everyone back on the water behind Malibu’s Wakesetter Series boats to experience the best wave and surf technology on the water with family and friends.

This season, riders competing in the WWA Regional Championships will earn WWA USA National Ranking points with the opportunity to qualify for the 2018 WWA USA National Team. WWA USA National Ranking will be based on points earned at the WWA Regional Championships and WWA National Wakeboard Championships. The #1 rider from Each WWA amateur division will qualify to become part of the WWA USA National Team receiving exclusive team gear along with support for the 2018 WWA World Championships.

4 Boat Maintenance Tips to Keep You on the Water This Summer

Regardless of the size or type of your boat, there is one thing every boat needs and that is maintenance. Luckily, it's not difficult to keep your boat running properly, especially when you have the best boat service company at the Lake of the Ozarks helping you. Ensuring your boat is properly cared for can definitely help avoid costly repairs down the road. Iguana Boat Sales has four maintenance tips to help keep your boat out on the water this summer.

Keep Your Boat Clean

The best thing you can do for your watercraft is to wash it regularly, especially if you ever use it in saltwater. The salt can corrode metal, fasteners, and other hardware. However, even if you're just boating in freshwater, it's important to wash your boat to preserve the paint. When cleaning your boat, ensure you use soaps and cleaners made just for boats to protect the finish. Don't forget to also clean the interior of the boat as well, especially if you're not using a cover. You’ll want to make sure the floor is clean and you wipe down the surfaces before and after you use it.

Don’t Forget to Change the Oil

Boats are similar to cars, especially when it comes to needing their oil changed regularly. Four-stroke outboards, inboards, and stern drive boats require regular oil changes. The frequency will vary by model, but a good rule of thumb is to change the oil every 100 hours of operation or once a year. Check the Propeller

It's also important to remove the propeller several times throughout the season to make sure any discarded fishing line hasn't become wrapped around the propeller shaft.
